Coaching Requirements
In order to be eligible to be on a bench you must register with CMBA online and obtain a CMBA STAFF ID CARD. This requires:
- Uploading a criminal record check (valid within 2 years)
- Completing SafeSport and uploading certificate
- Completing our mandatory coach training on our website and uploading certificates.
Failure to do so will lead to not being allowed on the bench, forfeiting any games you coach without it, and could lead to discipline from the SCC which includes suspension. We encourage all spectators to complete our online spectator training as well.
Recommended Safe Sport Training - All participating coaches are encouraged to have completed the free Safe Sport Training module that is available online through the Coach Association of Canada (CAC). Coaches should complete this step as early in their season as possible to be aware of and apply concepts to their respective preparations.
Sportsmanship and Conduct Committee
- The SCC is the investigation/disciplinary body of CMBA.
- All participants (Directors/Parents/Coaches/Players) are STRONGLY encouraged to review the SCC section of our website for decision making process, appeal information, full rules, the participation agreement, and the levels of discipline.
Bond Fee
- The $250 bond will be returned to the organization at the conclusion of the tournament if the team is still in good standing with CMBA. Reasons for not being in good standing include:
- Missing/forfeiting games
- SCC Discipline that includes suspension(s) of coaches or parents.
- All CMBA disciplinary action carries over to all other CMBA sanctioned events.
