Team Registration Cost, Cancellation, and Refund Policy

***Registration deadline for all teams is Friday March 20th, 2020 at 12:00 noon***  

Registration Fee: $1,300 per team. *** Plus a $300 game forfeit fee/sportsmanship conduct fee/damage deposit fee for all teams registered, which will be returned at end of season, if all needs are met to CMBA that team or teams is in good standing***.

CMBA will refund the Spring League Team Registration fee if a team or team’s registration is cancelled by email to cmba@cmba.ab.ca on or before 12:00 noon, Friday, March 20th, 2020. A 10% service charge will apply.  Refunds will be issued in the same medium as received. Refunds will be issued 14 days after payment has cleared the bank.

Team registration fees will not be refunded if a team or teams cancel their participation in the Spring League after 12:00 noon, Friday, March 20th, 2020

All Teams will invite players to register to their team through CMBA online registration, Rosters will be a maximum of 12 players per team.
Rosters are due April 1st at 4:00pm. $ 100.00 will be charged to teams for late rosters. 

  • Players/Coaches will be sent an invite to register to your team, where they will sign off on Waiver, Participation Agreement, and upload required age verification.
  • Players MUST register to be on your official roster.

 

CMBA Spring League 2020

CMBA encourages sportsmanship among teams. Coaches are encouraged to play all their players for significant and meaningful minutes per game.

Verbal or physical abuse of officials by coaches, players or spectators will not be tolerated.  Offending individuals will be ejected from the facility and suspended from the league.

Club Divisions (A/B)

All teams registering will be served on a first come first serve basis with a minimum of 4 teams and a maximum 8 teams per division in: U13 A&B, U15 A&B, U18 (High School) A&B

  • A division is intended for older players at the top of their age group 
  • B division is intended for younger players i.e.; U12, U14, U16, but is not exclusive to younger players thus the classification U13 B, U15 B, U18 B)

All teams must conform to the age categories designated in CMBA Rules and Regulations Section 4.5 Age and Gender Categories;

U13 A/B - Players born in 2007, 2008

U15 A/B - Players born in 2005, 2006

U18 A/B - Players born in 2002, 2003, 2004

Recreational Divisions (A/B)

All teams must conform to the age categories designated in CMBA Rules and Regulations Section 4.5 Age and Gender Categories;

U11 A/B/C - Players born in 2009, 2010

U13 A/B - Players born in 2007, 2008

U15 A/B - Players born in 2005, 2006

U18 A - Players born in 2002, 2003, 2004 ** U18 Rec A Players will play on Wednesday nights

General Policies

  • Any team found playing ineligible players will be disqualified from the league and will forfeit team registration fees.
  • Players who have not played community basketball must provide proof of age
  • Teams are required to provide their own practice time
  • Teams are required to provide their own jerseys and must provide pennies if jerseys are not reversible.
  • Players can only be registered on one team per spring. And must play a minimum of 2 league games to qualify for playoffs.
  • Teams can only register in one of our leagues, cannot play in both club and community divisions at same time.
  • All U18 players to be eligible for Spring League 2019 must be in registered and attending High School for Spring 2019.
