Rules: Overtime

Overtime Rules

  • Overtime in the playoffs will start immediately with a jump ball at center court
  • The first team to score 4 points or the team leading at the end of a 3 minute run time period is the victor, whichever comes first
  • The clock will only be stop-time in the last 30 seconds of the 3 minute overtime period. The clock will be stopped during the 3 minute period for team or officials timeouts, and player injuries
  • If the game remains tied at the end of 3 minutes, the second overtime period will begin immediately with a jump ball and the winner will be determined by the first team to score a point. This includes any type of point scored including a single foul shot
  • Each team will continue to shoot at the same basket as the second half
  • Each team will be only allowed a one-minute timeout for the entire overtime period. No timeouts carry over from the 2nd half of regulation
  • Players who were fouled out or ejected during regulation time will NOT be allowed to participate in any of the overtime periods
