Residence is determined at the time of registration for the current season. In the case of a player’s family moving their residence to a new zone / association, the player may choose to play in either the new zone or the former zone for that season only. Proof of new residence will be required.
False declaration of residence of a player shall result in suspension(s) of the player. Where coaching staff or Member zone officials are knowingly parties to erroneous player information, team(s) affected may be subject to loss of points and standing.
In all cases of player registration, parents and the zone registrar may be held accountable for providing correct registration information.
All players must be registered within their designated CMBA zones/association (or as exempted in) and must be registered by their zones within the CMBA.

A player may only be registered within one (1) CMBA team during a season.
All CMBA zones / associations will give priority to registering players residing within their own boundaries before allowing outside players to access their program.
In the case of physically and/or mentally challenged players, subject to the nature of the handicap and the associated safety risks to the individual and/ or other participants, the rules of play contained herein shall be relaxed as they relate to age groups, to enable such players to register at a level considered equal to their learning, enjoyment and capacity, notwithstanding their birth date.
In order to clear registration for such players a request must come to CMBA from the zone/association president or registrar, and the parent.
In some cases, a letter from the player’s doctor may be requested attesting to the player’s circumstance
The zone registrar will be responsible to ensure that all players on each team registered are of the correct age and live within the zone/association boundaries, unless exempted by special circumstances. Late team registrations will be accepted at the discretion of the CMBA Office Manager.
Team rosters for U-11, U-13, U-15 will be frozen on midnight November 30 of the current season.
Team rosters for Juvenile category fall teams will be frozen on midnight September 30 of the current season.
Team rosters for the Juvenile category Winter teams will be frozen on midnight of January 31 of the current season.
No changes to the rosters may be made after these dates.
The CMBA program shall be divided into the following age categories for both male and female.
All players must attempt to register within their home zone/association before attempting to obtain a release to play in another zone.
Players attempting to register in another zone/ association without a release will be directed to their home zone.
No zone may accept players from another zone if they have turned away any players within their zone at time of registration.
Players who wait until the registration deadlines have passed in their home zone to obtain a release, may not be able to transfer to another zone if their home program is full.
All Transfer forms must be approved by the President /Vice President from both zones involved. Final approval will be at the discretion of the CMBA Operations Manager.
Any violation of the above transfer regulations will result in the offending zones/associations team or teams being disqualified from league play, city playoffs, youth provincial tournament and any other CMBA hosted tournaments.
All Coaches must be registered by their zones within the CMBA.
All coaches must be currently registered within their zone/ association.
Deadline for this shall be listed in the Critical Dates document for that current Season.
All coaches are required to have the Essentials minimum level of certification for the division of the team(s) they are registered with. This must be completed and documented and submitted to CMBA by the zone/association prior to November.
These certifications can be attained by attending approved and sanctioned clinics throughout the year.
