Questions with Ambrose Unversity player Lucas Pedersen:

Q: Who is your favourite basketball player?

A: Kyle Irving because of his elite ball handling skill and ability to finish baskets around the rim that nobody but him can do

Q: Which basketball team do you root for?

A: Toronto Raptors because they're the only Canadian team. I became a fan because my parents like them and I'm from Canada

Q: Who has the best basketball uniforms of any college or pro team you like?

A: The retro Suns Jersey from 1994

Q: What is your favourite basketball movie?

A: Space Jam. Its an all time classic basketball movie and one of my favourites growing up as a kid.

Q: What is your favourite candy?

A: Twizzlers

Q: What is your favourite ice cream?

A: Cookies and Cream

Q: Do you have a hobby?

A: Skateboarding and water sports because they are both something that I can do in the off season of basketball and activities that I can also do with my friends.

Q: Do you have a favourite pregame meal before you play a basketball game?

A: Chicken and rice

Q: What is your favourite basketball play?

A: Mine personally are the killer crossover and the ally-oop because they are both great ways to attack and score on the defense and are difficult to stop.

Q: What do you love most about the game of basketball?

A: The excitement of winning with my team and the intense competition.

Q: Do you have a favourite memory from when you played in the CMBA?

A: I loved the close games that me and my Calwest teammates had every year with Bow River in the finals.

Q: What is the best piece of advice you received from a coach?

A: Always be looking to attack and apply pressure when you have the ball in your hands or without. You can always be doing something on the court to help your team and put pressure on defence.

Q: What is one piece of advice you would give to younger players?

A: Good defence always turns into good offence.

Q: What basketball skill is your greatest strength?

A: My quick first step and ability to blow by defenders to attack the rim.

Q: What was your biggest failure or adversity you have faced in the game, and how did you over come it?

A: I am currently facing my biggest adversity right now with a back injury that has been preventing me from playing basketball for months. I am over coming it by applying more attention to other parts of my game and staying confident that I'll be back to 100% strength and healthiness soon.

Q: Are you a vocal leader on the court or do you lead by example? Or both?

A: In the past I lead mostly by example but have learned that being a vocal leader is an essential tool that you need to have in order to be successful and a good teammate

Q: How do you find positive ways to communicate with your teammates? To build team culture.

A: You always need to let your teammates know what they are capable of and remind them of it on the court so they can remember the work they put in to succeed.

Q: What is something interesting about you that no one really knows?

A: Everyone in my family is a basketball player or was one.

Q: What is your favourite class or subject in University?

A: I am enjoying my business and economic classes because of the valuable information that can help me find a job that ill love and because they are classes that I have teammates in as well.

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: I am still working on my plan to see where business takes me, but am very interested in the stock market and investment advising.

Q: How are you training during the Covid-19 pandemic to prepare for the next season?

A: I am making sure to have a daily routine of working out and getting my blood pumping every day of the week to stay in shape and get back to 100% for next season.
